It was inevitable that rumors of a possible Zune phone would begin circulating. It makes perfect sense. Microsoft has got to want a slice of Apple pie. Why wouldn’t they be planning a Zune phone to go up against the iPhone?

E Ink is toying with the idea of introducing its E Ink Vixplex Imaging Film for the outer display found in upcoming clamshell handsets, and this will definitely be a boon to the industry since e-ink consumes power only when there is a change in image, hence conserving battery life to an even greater extent.

Here you are a cute and “girlish” phone from Motorola, the PEBL, which does not stand-out for its feature (VOD, MOD, MP3, HSDPA) but for its look.

The Suo Xin ZT888 is a nice looking mobile phone from China that comes with an extra genuine leather case/battery for some reason. This caught my eye because of the call buttons. I’m pretty sure Apple doesn’t approve and I can only guess that they are trying to fool some morons into thinking that this is the new iPhone they’ve heard so much about.

Yep, mobile phone companies aren't having the best of it. A combination of market saturation and the credit crunch are hitting their upgrade dependent business models and now Sony Ericsson has just turned in some particularly nasty Q2 figures.

On Saturday I reported that Europe has no iPhone 3G stock anymore and that this situation could last into October based on a German magazine report. On Saturday it looked like Apple still manages to get their stores restocked each day with new iPhones, but for Monday the almost all Apple Stores will have no iPhone 3G inventory.
