Robot maker CrabFu is using spare servos from R/C aircraft to create his cool little robots. One of his most recent creations is this tortoise. The plastic used for the legs is called Shapelock, a material which becomes moldable after you heat it up to at least 150 degrees.

Robot developer tmsuk has unveiled a remote-control robot that will give you a new way to shop from the comfort of your posterior. It’s a prototype of the telerobotic shopper, which is a modified TMSUK-4 humanoid robot that has a variety of cellphone communications technology. They had a demonstration on July 10 at the Izutsuya department store in the city of Kitakyushu, Japan, where it probably made the male robot wait while it tried on clothes and asked if each one made it’s ass look fat.

n some sort of apocalyptic robot future, we may all be required to wear one of these to hide our identities. I call the name Mr. Roboto. It’s kind of like the emoticon version of the Micheal Myers mask, whether your just cold chillin’ at the park with your dog or stabbing somebody senselessly, it’s all creepy on the outside. It’s a research project from the Digital Media Design department at Hongik University in Korea.

If you love robots like I do, you’ll notice very quickly the complete lack of robot flash drives. Where’s the robot love? Team is doing something about that with their “T-Bot R50″ robot-shaped flash drives that were shown off at the Computex event. Looks like they’ll come in 1GB,2GB,4GB and 8GB sizes. You can choose between red, white, blue or black. They have a cool retro look.

Now I’m sympathetic to those who have fallen on hard times, many of us still find people who beg for money to be irritating. So why someone would go through the trouble of building a robot that begs for spare change is anyone’s guess. Alexander Gurko’s “Bettelbot” (that’s “BeggingBot” in English) has just one mission in mind - to get your money.

SwashBot 3 is one crabby lookin’ robot- but most impressively he is 100% homemade. For a scrappy little fellow, he’s got some impressive moves. SwashBot 3 is the latest RC robot in the SwashBot series, following the cute and crabby SwashBot 1 and the more impersonal, wooden SwashBot 2.

Ain't nothing like a good robot-related publicity stunt to get the heart poundin on a Sunday. For your consideration, Panasonic's offered up a small 7-inch robot powered by EVOLTA AA cells, which willingly participated in a nearly seven hour rope climb of more than 1,700 vertical feet of sheer Grand Canyon expanse. Fine, we get it Panasonic, EVOLTA batteries last a while -- now you can stop putting adorable little robots in harm's way to prove it.
