Okay, okay -- we get it. So maybe there's just not enough room in a genuine Zapper to fit all the necessary innards of a Nintendo Entertainment System into, but it's just a bit weird to see the Big N's antiquated console crammed into some other light gun. Similar to the NES-in-an-NES-controller mod we peeked earlier this week, this unit includes a plethora of games and all the controls you need; just plug it up to a TV, pop a few batteries in there and you're golden.

Only John Koller knows how serious John Koller, Sony's senior marketing manager for PSP, was when mentioning that GPS-enabled games could eventually hit the PSP, but he definitely threw it out there. Speaking about the forthcoming GPS add-on for the PlayStation Portable, Koller stated that said module "changes the dynamics of GPS but also changes the way developers think about games on PSP, because you can start integrating GPS into it."

Just over a month after the internet got all fired up about the problematic AVIC F-Series navigators, Pioneer has come to the rescue (we hope, anyway) with a free firmware update. Aimed specifically at the US-based AVIC-F90BT, AVIC-F900BT and AVIC-F700BT, the update will reportedly "improve overall system performance and resolve certain software issues.

We tried to take OCZ's Neural Impulse Actuator seriously, we really did. But unable to suppress those recurring images of Geordi La Forge, we simply couldn't help ourselves from having a laugh at this thing's expense. Nevertheless, the way-more-solemn dudes and dudettes over at HotHardware managed to give this brain-computer interface a fair shake, and overall, it was pretty impressed.

Disco Stu doesn’t rock just any speakers. They have to be Disco-licious and authentically groovy like these Saturday Night speakers that resemble a south park character. Put on your boogie shoes and your finest polyester and get ready for some funkadelic tunes pumped through two afros.

The front of this black Star Wars themed MP3 player features a big close-up of Darth Vader with glowing red eyes and a shiny helmet. So far, so good… But the even darker side of this product is its specs. The MP3 player only features 512MB of memory and a display that looks like it’s from the 80s. A small bonus is that it comes with a built-in radio.

It's a strange trend, but even though something's clearly a great idea it sometimes takes manufacturers years to get right. Take the recent surge in the number of cheap, mini notebooks on the market, sparked by the infamous Eee PC. I'd been desperate for a product such as this for many years, and I'm sure many others were too, but manufacturers just kept missing the mark. Portable computing was either too expensive or too fiddly to use, or cheap and too limited.
