Nyko has a heart for your consoles, which is why it will be releasing the Nyko Intercooler TS for the Xbox 360 and PS3 this September. The former will retail for $24.99 while the latter costs an additional $10. Of course, with that extra dough splashed out, you will get variable fan-speed control. I must say while these are pretty essential and more cost effective than playing in an air conditioned room during summer, fans do add to the noise in the long run.

CyberLink has taken a good hard look at GPU transcoding capabilities last summer, and they have also been hard at work, adding transcoding to its own software stack. Fast forward one year and you will find the CyberLink PowerDirector 7 Ultra to be one muscular piece of software, shipping with GPU-accelerated video transcoding. In a tech demonstration (I am normally very reserved with the claims of such demonstrations since the results tend to be skewed).

HP TouchSmart PCs feature a clutter-busting, all-in-one form factor made to fit into common areas of your home. The bulky look of a desktop is gone. Instead, there's a sleek, piano-black design with elegant espresso side-panel highlights that add a look of sophistication to any room. The footprint is smaller, but HP TouchSmart PCs deliver big visuals on a 22" diagonal hi-def widescreen.

Elecom has launched very stylish, compact stereo speaker system ASP-CR550P for iPod and ASP-CR550 with 3.5mm stereo mini- plug for digital players and laptops. The Elecom stereo speaker systems can be used as one piece where space is a problem or as two separate left and right speakers. This clever idea makes it very easy to carry the speaker unit in style when not in use.

While a great deal of attention has been lavished on MSI's Wind subnotebook (here are our first impressions and hands on), another major release for the company has largely been overlooked... Coming hot on the heels of the Asus Eee Box, MSI has also announced the 'Wind PC' - an ultra small desktop (I use the term literally) computer again based on the Intel Atom low power CPU and 945GC chipset.

HP’s m-series computers are designed for mainstream home users with rigorous multimedia demands, such as watching HD movies, recording TV, and maybe even some light gaming. HP calls the m9200t an “entertainment powerhouse,” and though we probably wouldn’t go that far, it’s safe to say it’s a well-built machine with more than enough power to satisfy the majority of home users. Its biggest flaw is that it includes typical big-box bloatware and toolbars, and is a bit generic in terms of its design and software build.

Good news, FPS addicts… There’s no need to worry if funds are tight, as custom computer builder Maingear has developed the Dash PC as a low-cost alternative to its boutique gaming rigs, albeit with the same attention to detail and unique design that are the hallmarks of a personalized machine. The thinking being, of course, that if you are a gamer and like Maingear, but can’t afford one of the provider’s higher-end systems, when your friends and family need a recommendation, you’ll tell them to pick this puppy up.

When Bill Gates met President Lee Myung-bak at Cheong Wa Dae on May 6, the Microsoft chairman came bearing a very special gift: a Microsoft Xbox video game console inlaid with traditional Korean mother-of-pearl. In fact 100 similar Xboxes are being prepared by a Korean artisan, intended as special VIP gifts from the Microsoft chief. The decoration is the handiwork of Kim Young-jun, the head of a manufacturing company called Gookbo.

This certainly isn’t the first time that I’ve seen a steampunk computer design, but it’s a quick way for you to turn your machine into something that H.G. Wells himself would be proud of. Recently sighted over on eBay, here’s a set of custom-modded steampunk accessories for your PC. The Steamputer was inspired by an old 1920s typewriter, complete with round, old-style keys and some deliciously old-world gears under the hood.
