At the All Things D conference, Gizmodo’s Brian Lam ran into Michael Dell and learned about a new prototype laptop that, until then was all very hush hush. It’s got a bright red candy shell, with the body being similar to an Asus Eee PC. So those in the market for an Eee PC might want to sit back and wait a bit as it’s about to enter the sub-$500 mini-laptop world.

The latest French Door Refrigerator is vying for the world's largest spot with a volume of 29-cubic-feet and 16% increase in useable space while keeping the same form. Model RFG297 manages extra volume within the same overall size by using high-rate urethane insulation technology which reduces wall thickness from 2.04 inches to 1.38 inches and provides an extra 4 cubic feet of storage or 16%. Specs include the company's Twin Cooling Plus System, this allows the main body and the freezer section to be cooled separately so that odors from the compartments do not mix.

We demand a lot from our kitchens these days, and appliances are starting to feel the heat (heh) and lose their cool (heh) and… um… sink. And why should we settle for boring old unitaskers when we can buy things like this toastowave? LG’s LTM9000 (9000 being the best version of anything) pumps 900 watts into the microwave and 800 watts into the toaster, and offers 9 toasting levels “to suit all of your needs.”

This toaster tosses convention completely out the window. The Fagor TP-2006 X is a flat toaster and it looks way cooler than traditional ones. It also makes for a dangerous breakfast time. It’s probably not good for those with a house full of kids who like sticking their hands in objects.
Like other toasters, the Fagor TP-2006 X comes with a crumb tray that can be slid out. It’s clearly begging to have a burger on it’s grill as well, though I’m sure they do not recommend it.

Kodak will release some EasyShare photoframes with “Quick Touch” borders so you can scroll through photos by sliding your finger along the border and control all the other frame functions. Both the M820 and M1020 feature 8 and 10-inch screens, audio and video support, 128MB of built-in memory, and support for most used memory card formats. While the 7-inch P720 comes with the Quick Touch border but lacks everything but the basic photo frame specs.

Have a lawn? Frustrated with your exorbitant water bill thanks to the water wastefully being spewed out from a not-so-intelligent sprinkler system? Enter Cyber-Rain XCI. Sounds like it’s out of Star Trek huh? Well it just might as well be! This system gives the owners wireless control of up to eight watering zones. After hooking up the controllers and plugging a wireless access point into your PC via a USB, people who use this device can look forward to the solution of automatically treating their garden irrigation system based on the weather conditions, seasons et al.
This little piece of heaven will even log water savings and chuck out a graph to prove its value. For $349 to it is definitely worth it considering all the money you will be saving on the water bill, making the wife happy by keeping your lawn green and of course not to forget, keeping Greenpeace happy for saving water as well!

mStation may not be a household name when it comes to iPod-based speaker systems (they only have two notable products, after all), but the newly released mStation 2.1 Stereo Tower could certainly change that! The $299 USD "Tower" has a very unusual design and boasts impressive sound quality. We gave the "Tower" a thorough test to find out if it's as good as mStation claims, or if it's just a sexy shell with mediocre output. Read our review to get our final opinion.

Here’s something that looks like a lot of fun. The LED Shower Light will make for a unique showering experience for grown ups and children. The light will go from Neon Blue to Fire Red when the water hits the temperature (89 Deg. F/ 32 Deg. Celsius). This will help warn children also when the water starts to get hot and the light makes it a fun experience for them as opposed to the chore they usually treat it as! The shower just lets you forget the practical side of having to touch the water to check how hot or cold it is.

Karim Rashid is no stranger to luxury, his designs have made to the top spot every now and then. His latest collaboration with Veuve Clicquot has resulted in the Globalight, which will be launched during Milan Furniture Fair on 16th April. The limited edition champagne holder (only 500 pieces created) features pure and sensual lines. This is the second collaboration between Veuve and Karim following the "Loveseat" last year. The Globalight is a multi-functional holder; a portable cooler with a soft halo of light (keeping the champagne at ideal temperature for 2 hours) and a decorative design piece on its own. Truly a piece of art!

About a year ago I came across one of the items from this line, however, what I didn’t realize is that there are four other gadgets from the same line. All five are from Homade, the same people who made the Lego MP3 player.
All of the little gadgets are made to look like retro kitchen appliances. The stove, blender and washer are all timers for your oven or stove. Each one goes off in a different way, for example the washer will vibrate and show bubbles to get your attention. The refrigerator is not only a timer but a radio as well. The controls for it are inside of the refrigerator only visible when you open the door.

This is amazingly similar to some of the childhood musings that I had of futuristic alarm clocks. Like every other alarm clock it has its own mean effort to wake you up from your slumber. Picture this, you are deep in a dream and suddenly you hear the alarms frantic attempts to wake you up and as if by instinct, you reach for the snooze button. The alarm will go off in a while and in addition to the sound, you will be treated to a visual array of pictures that depict the activities you should be doing. Pressing the snooze button again will provide you with some temporary relief but this is short lived as the ruckus that follows is even more challenging to ignore.
