Brand tie-ins seem to be de rigueur at the moment and Ferrari has to be one of the prime culprits. Ferrari's been doling out brand associations like Mentos at a Foo Fighters concert, as of late. You can now get Ferrari phones, Ferrari notebooks, and even Ferrari Lego! If it's not careful the Ferrari brand will soon be so diluted it will bring with it no caché at all.

Posted on Jun 25 2008 1:30 AM by adeal

We got a first glimpse of Mitsubishi's brand new rear-projection-ish laser-based TV tech, LaserVue, back at CES, but now the sets are just about primed for action, and should be hitting store shelves, as previously noted, Q3 2008. LaserVue will debut in 65-inch and 73-inch, with the 65-inch version hitting the scene first. Mitsubishi is still pretty coy about what exactly makes the technology tick.

JVC's new NX-PN7 Dual iPod docking station aims to be different from others by offering the ability to hold a couple of iPods or iPhones simultaneously, although it doesn't make sense to have both of them blasting out tunes at once in a cacophony. Make sure you have at least 13" of shelf space before you can house this in your home. Features include an integrated AM/FM radio, a remote control.

This retro-look wooden casing houses a plasma TV. It combines mid-century modern aesthetics with modern technology to give you the best of both worlds. At first glance, the TV looks like it belongs in one of yesteryear’s living rooms- until you realize how thin it is. The case can be made in custom sizes and a variety of woods. The panels in front are designed to look like old TV speaker boxes.

Mercedes-Benz introduces new iPhone integration kit
Posted on Jun 20 2008 1:13 AM by adeal

Mercedes-Benz's current iPod integration kit is pretty weak sauce, especially since the new COMAND nav / multimedia system is so well done, but it looks like the automaker's newest iPhone cradle will take steps to address some of the more glaring issues and also add some interesting new features. The cradle appears to finally integrate iPod controls with the main nav screen and COMAND controller instead of relying solely on the instrument display and steering wheel controls.

Samsung SyncMaster 226cw
Posted on Jun 18 2008 12:31 AM by adeal

The SyncMaster 226cw is one of those monitors whose high price makes it immediately obvious that this is not another run-of-the-mill addition to the already overcrowded 1,680 x 1,050 22in market. You see, the relentless race for the fastest LCD millisecond response times seems to have stabilised at 2ms (a figure the 226cw sports too), and now there's a new horizon that seems to have captured the popular imagination, and thus manufacturers' budgets: wide colour gamut.

A common complaint I hear from newcomers to digital photography, is that their prints don't match the images they see on their monitors. As more people progress into DSLRs and shooting Raw, looking to improve the quality of their images, they often become increasingly frustrated by the inability of the output devices to match the image they imagine they should be getting. Usually this problem is down to colour management.
