With the recent launch of new graphics cards from both ATI and nVidia, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the demise of previous generation cards would be swift and merciless. However, that has yet proved to be the case, with ATI in particular, assuring us that the 3000-series of cards is here to stay for a while.

E Ink is toying with the idea of introducing its E Ink Vixplex Imaging Film for the outer display found in upcoming clamshell handsets, and this will definitely be a boon to the industry since e-ink consumes power only when there is a change in image, hence conserving battery life to an even greater extent.

The Suo Xin ZT888 is a nice looking mobile phone from China that comes with an extra genuine leather case/battery for some reason. This caught my eye because of the call buttons. I’m pretty sure Apple doesn’t approve and I can only guess that they are trying to fool some morons into thinking that this is the new iPhone they’ve heard so much about.

On Saturday I reported that Europe has no iPhone 3G stock anymore and that this situation could last into October based on a German magazine report. On Saturday it looked like Apple still manages to get their stores restocked each day with new iPhones, but for Monday the almost all Apple Stores will have no iPhone 3G inventory.

Vodafone has a range of own branded exclusive handsets and recently I looked at the Vodafone Vodafone 810, a 3G slider. The Vodafone 526 is somewhat lower down the pecking order in terms of specifications, being a rather more straightforward candybar phone.

While Creative's feature packed and impressively priced ZEN X-Fi has been stealing all the headlines, the company has been beavering away on this swanky project on the side... Aimed at raising the heart rates of all sporty/aspiring-sporty types, the teeny (57 x 37 x 10.8mm, 22g) ZEN 'Krystal' is the company's latest assault on the iPod shuffle and ZEN Stone and a rather good one at that.

Parrot's new Minikit Slim Bluetooth speaker comes in an extremely slim and stylish body, making it suitable for use in just about anywhere, be it the car, office or at home. It comes with a clip that allows you to attach it on your vehicle's visor, to your LCD monitor or even onto the lapel of your shirt if you so desire. Since it weighs 83 grams, it won't slip that easily as you move around with the Minikit Slim attached.

As all the hype, expectation and chaos surrounding the iPhone 3G slowly begins to settle today it's comparatively neglected offshoot, the iPod touch, at last has its time in the limelight... Available now is firmware 2.0 for the iPod touch and it brings with it all the great additions seen for the iPhone and iPhone 3G including - most importantly - access to App Store, the potentially revolutionary 3rd party add-on shop where users can download and install 100s of different games and applications (many of which are free).

For anyone who wants their phone to be all things to all men, Nokia's flagship N95 ought to have been the answer to their dreams. It had a five megapixel digital camera, fast internet, POP3 and IMAP email support, plus decent music and video-playing capabilities and a built-in GPS. But we were concerned with just too many things for it to win us over completely. Build quality, for one, felt too cheap for a phone so expensive, battery life was short and it was pretty chunky, too.

I’m sure we’ve all been wondering just how long it would take for the iPhone 2.0 software to get unlocked. It’s kinda like the how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop thing. Maybe a week or a month? Nope. Just like the owl who chomped down on that Tootsie Pop in one bite, so too goes the software.

There is a new Motorola handset from the ZINE line known as the ZN200. The ZN200, by virtue of its smaller number compared to the ZN500, is a lower-tier model with a 2 megapixel camera, an integrated FM radio, MP3 playback capability and Windows Media Player 11 support to keep you entertained. Each $499 purchase will come with 30MB of internal memory and a 1GB memory card. You can choose from black and pink colors.

The Amazon Kindle could potentially sell even more in the near future if other universities pick up the idea of introducing college textbooks on the device. In fact, Princeton University Press will begin to publish Kindle-edition textbooks this fall, taking baby steps in the world of e-textbooks. The book in question is Robert Shiller’s economics themed “The Subprime Solution”
